FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does PowerPayoff make payments or move money from my accounts?

It does not. PowerPayoff helps you understand your balances and explore what to pay, but you stay in control of every payment.

When you're ready, you complete the payment directly with your bank or card issuer. PowerPayoff does not initiate transfers, schedule bank payments, or set up autopay from your connected financial accounts.

If my accounts are connected, why do I confirm my balance?

Because we'd rather ask you for a number you can verify than pretend an estimate is authoritative.

PowerPayoff's current connection uses transaction activity rather than your institution's live balance feed.

You confirm the current posted balance shown by your institution once to create a trusted starting point. PowerPayoff then applies later posted activity to maintain an updated estimate.

You can compare that estimate with your institution and correct it whenever needed.

How is PowerPayoff different from my bank app or a budgeting app?

Your bank app is great at showing what's happening inside that institution.

Traditional budgeting tools are often designed to categorize where your money went.

PowerPayoff is built around a different question:

“Given my connected cash, my credit balances, and what's coming up next — what deserves my attention?”

It brings credit balances, connected cash, upcoming statement closes and due dates, utilization, spending insights, and payoff planning into one credit-focused view.

What if I already carry credit card debt?

That's exactly what Debt Detonator is for.

Enter or confirm your balance and APR, choose how much you could put toward it, and see an estimated payoff timeline and interest based on that scenario.

Pro users with multiple active balances can also compare avalanche — highest APR first — with snowball — smallest balance first.

These are planning estimates, not issuer payment instructions or guarantees.

Is my financial information safe?

PowerPayoff connects financial accounts through Stripe Financial Connections.

Your bank sign-in is handled outside PowerPayoff, and PowerPayoff does not receive or store your bank username or password.

The current connection requests transaction access, not linked-account money-movement access.

PowerPayoff also does not store full bank account numbers, routing numbers, or full payment-card details used for your subscription.

No online service can promise zero risk, so we prefer to be clear about exactly what PowerPayoff can — and cannot — access.
